Walkability

The essential elements for a walkable neighborhood are connectivity and environment.  The trees placed between the sidewalk and curb help shade the sidewalk as well as the street, giving a shaded environment to walk in.  The trees also give the pedestrian a sense of protection from traffic.  The connectivity is achieved with a grid of streets and paths, giving the pedestrian multiple routes.
